Singapore abolishes testing system in schools to help students focus on their own learning progress and do away with the culture of learning for competition. Private and international schools in Vietnam can now now enroll up to 50% Vietnamese students, overriding the previous 80:20 ratio between foreign and local students. Malaysian government indicates a move away from Malay-based school instruction towards emphasis on English language mastery.
