Management Systems, supporting institutions and organizations in their digital processes, dominates the list, indicative of a relatively mature education system.

Startups operating in the K12 sector make up almost half of this year's list, with Workforce one third and the remaining in Higher Education. School management software such as Classe365 and Intellischool, analytics solutions (Octopus BI), education workforce management (PeopleBench), curriculum management systems such as CourseLoop, and course authoring tools (KuraCloud) are examples in this category. Servicing the Workforce sector, solutions such as GO1, Tex.inc, How Too, Reejig and Guroo Producer, support a range of needs from workforce intelligence and planning, to training, digital learning content and design.

Half of this year’s cohort are in the growth years, having been founded prior to the pandemic and finding traction over the last three years.

This year’s list is a slightly younger cohort with half between 4-6 years old. Of that group the business model is split evenly between direct-to-consumer and business-to-business models. Founded prior to COVID and potentially seeing growth through that period of demand, startups like InternMatch saw growth as institutions needed digital solutions in the student experience. Also in this growth category are teams in the vocational education segment (Typsy, Learning Vault) providing digital delivery and credentialing solutions.
