The Indian government has allocated an extra USD $15B to education for the 2019-20 budget, targeted at encouraging school attendance of 5-6 year olds in rural areas. Meanwhile, Indian EdTech solutions are being recognised globally, with four of the nation’s startups being selected as finalists in a global prize. Lastly, India’s only EdTech Unicorn, Byju, spends $120M on a U.S. play-based learning startup.
